South River Technologies

Company Information

South River Technologies develops software for document collaboration, secure file access, and Managed File Transfer. The SRT family of products provides strong security for encrypted data transfer. SRT’s unique client technology integrates into the Windows environment, creating an instantly familiar interface for users — ultimately reducing training and support costs. Independent software vendors license SRT technology to offer added functionality to existing product suites. Additionally, re-branded versions of SRT products are available for license to ISPs.

Our products include the WebDrive FTP Client, Titan FTP Server, GroupDrive Collaboration Suite and Cornerstone Managed File Transfer Server.

WebDrive is the first application to map a network drive letter to a server across the Internet. Enabling users to access remote files through the familiar interface of Windows Explorer, or from within the applications that they are already using, has branded South River Technologies as a productivity innovator.

Titan FTP Server continued to create productivity gains for our customers by providing high performance, along with highly granular configuration controls. By being able to control and monitor performance and security concerns at the server, group, and user levels, Titan has quickly gained the reputation of being the FTP Server of choice for the IT professional.

The GroupDrive Collaboration Suite takes a fresh approach to a well-known problem: document collaboration and access. Rather than adopting the complexity of traditional Document Management systems with their long implementation cycles and massive user retraining, GroupDrive’s approach is streamlined. Offering a simple browser-based interface or the ability to integrate your GroupDrive into the Windows Explorer, accessing and collaborating on files is as easy as editing files on your local PC.

Over 65,000 customers have adopted our simple, powerful approach to file management. Our enterprise customers include more than 70 universities such as MIT, Columbia University, Virginia Tech, Cornell University, Georgia Tech, Clemson, University of Illinois, Missouri State, University of Maryland, Hong Kong Polytechnic, University of Western Syndey, and UC, San Diego. Our enterprise installations in Government include NASA Glenn Research Center , US Navy Surface Warfare, and the US Forrest Service. Corporate enterprise customers include British Petroleum, Comcast Entertainment Group, Loomis, Toronto Dominion Bank, LexisNexis Germany, Santander Hispano (Spain), and Universo Online (Brazil).

Originally founded in 1996, South River Technologies is a Maryland based, privately held company. In 2004, SRT received the Baltimore SmartCEO Future 50 award, which recognizes the top 50 fastest growing small businesses in Maryland.
